KEP Year 6
August 31 @ 8:30 am - 10:50 am
Each year we invite small groups of students from Kelmscott Primary School to be involved the Kelmscott Extension Program (KEP) at Kelmscott Senior High School. This involves students visiting Kelmscott SHS four times over the year, receiving extension activities in Science and Humanities. In addition to learning new information, this program provides students an opportunity to become familiarised with the high school environment and meet like-minded peers from other schools.
The KEP program continues into Years 7-10, and allows for further extension in the subject areas of English, Mathematics, Humanities and Science. Students will be selected through the Year 7 KEP testing process and details of the testing schedule will be relayed to primary schools in Term Two. Involvement in Primary KEP is not a guarantee of placement in Primary KEP, as there are limited places in the Year 7 KEP class.
Primary KEP runs as a morning activity at Kelmscott Senior High School. All four sessions follow the same time schedule.
Students should aim to arrive at the school by 8:30 am, with activities scheduled to start at 8:45 am. Mrs Coombe will be at the front lawn from approximately 8:15am to greet students and speak to parents if needed.
Students will be ready to be picked up from Kelmscott Senior High School at 10:50 am. Mrs Coombe supervise the students until they are picked up. If any students have not been picked up by 11 am then they will wait in the Gell Centre (Student Services building near the main entrance).
Parents are responsible for all transport arrangements. Some families car-pool, with one parent picking up multiple children. Some students may also choose to ride a bike to the high school and then ride their bike to their primary school afterwards. On the permission form, please indicate which forms of transport you permit for your child.
