Under the State Government’s new baseline restriction settings I am pleased to announce that we will now be able to return to relatively normal settings at school. This includes:
- Face to face P&C, Board, Parent/Teacher meetings
- Assemblies with full audiences (these are on Wednesday mornings every 3 weeks)
- Special events (140 Yr Celebrations)
- Parent classroom help
- Year 6 Camp to proceed as planned
- Staff meetings
Whilst some people will celebrate our new settings others may feel more cautious. If you would like your child to wear a mask or if you prefer to then please don’t hesitate to do so.
Free RATs will be available in the coming week or so for all families to take home.
Under the State Government’s new guidelines, schools are no longer responsible for contact tracing or following up with close contacts. We will continue to communicate cases that are infectious in classes for the time being.
Thank you for your kind support last week whilst I was off with COVID, it was a frustrating time to be away, but I had full confidence that the school was in good hands.
NAPLAN
Next week our Year 3 & 5 students will be completing the first of their NAPLAN tests for 2022. Whilst this data is extremely important for whole school planning, we encourage students to just do their best and have a go.
Book Fair
This year’s book fair will be in Weeks 5 & 6. As usual Mrs Morton has been working frantically to set up the library and get all the great books set out and ready to be purchased.
ANZAC Day Service
I want to thank Mrs Long for organising and conducting a touching ANZAC Day Service last Wednesday. From all accounts, it was very moving and well received by our students and community.
Winter Uniforms
Can you please ensure that your children wear school jackets and jumpers? Our new designs look fantastic and promote the school in a positive light. If you don’t have a school jacket or jumper please send your child in a plain blue one without name brands etc.
OHSC
Our out of hours school care provider is operating onsite at KPS. It is a great opportunity for your children to have a structured day care experience without having to leave the school grounds. Please contact them directly for more information on 9473 8402 or 9473 8407.
