Principal’s Update #2 Term 4

Dear Parents/Carers,
Term 4 seems to be rolling on at an astronomical pace as we near the half way mark. Our wonderful teachers are finalising student achievement assessments as they begin their report writing, this is always a busy time for them. At the same time, I am well and truly planning our structure for 2023. As usual we will release class lists in the last week of school this year.

Bingo Night!
This Thursday evening we have another fantastic Fathering Project event at our school. Please come along and enjoy a sausage sizzle from 5pm and then some bingo games from 5:30. It will be a lot of fun and we encourage as many families to come along and enjoy this great night. A massive thank you to Mr Grace for organising this opportunity.

Remembrance Day
The 11th of November plays a significant role in remembering the brave service men and women who served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice. We will hold our annual service at the cenotaph at Rushton Park at 10:20am next Friday. Classes have been working on another special display to honour our military. Thank you to Mrs Long who has organised what will be another moving ceremony.

Colour Splatacular
Next Friday is the big day! Don’t forget to wear a white shirt and get ready to run the gauntlet. This year we have added another element to our colour run in the shape of slime. All students are provided the opportunity to run through the purpose built running track whilst our P&C volunteers throw coloured powder, slime and water. It is highly advisable that all students bring an old towel to dry off. Parents are welcome to come and watch (or get involved if you’re really brave). If you haven’t signed up to raise money and win amazing prizes then please do so at www.australianfundraising.com.au . Thank you to the P&C for organising this fun event.

140th Assembly
Our formal assembly for the 140th year celebration will be on 16 November at 10:30 on the quadrangle. Many ex staff, students and special guests will be in attendance. I look forward to welcoming our current community to what is an important milestone. These events have only be made possible through the tireless efforts of our 140th committee who have volunteered countless hours to ensure we celebrate our history in the best way possible.

Class Lists 2023
We are well and truly preparing for 2023 with our recruitment processes completed and our enrolment projections completed. If you have any special request for 2023, please email me directly at Jason.bushe-jones@education.wa.edu.au. Whilst we try to accommodate reasonable requests, these can never be guaranteed.

OHSC
Our out of hours school care provider continues to operate successfully onsite at KPS. It is a great opportunity for your children to have a structured day care experience without having to leave the school grounds. Please contact them directly for more information on 9473 8402 or 9473 8407.
