Dear Parents/Carers,
We are entering the home straight of what has been a fantastic year at Kelmscott Primary School. We have a lot to still squeeze in and it will be very busy. This time of year can be a difficult and stressful time for students and staff. Particularly our Year 6 graduates who will be nervously awaiting the next phase in their schooling journey. These next two weeks will be business as usual, my message to teachers has been about maintaining high standards and continuing a rigorous education program right up to the finish line. Of course, there will be lots of fun along the way, but it is so important that we don’t take our foot off the accelerator. Every school day matters.
Class Lists 2023
Class lists will be going up in The Hall in Week 10. We have been very careful in how we have placed students this year and I have made every effort to listen to reasonable parent requests. We like to let students know their classes early to allow them time to prepare for the year ahead. Students with diagnosed disabilities and additional needs will know their classes late next week and will be provided with extra transition time.
Semester Reports
Semester reports will be emailed home on Wednesday 14 December. I am currently reading through them and am so impressed with how well our students have progressed.
End of Term Rewards
Mrs Aim has organised SciTech to come out and lead us through some fantastic shows next Friday as a reward for students who have maintained their good standing. Students who haven’t had their name in the tracking book will also receive an extra special reward for advanced standing.
Instrumental Concert
We held our instrumental concert on Wednesday. This was an amazing display of musical talent exhibited by all students involved. A big thank you to Ms Therese Arnold who has been teaching the string ensemble for many years at KPS.
Christmas Concert
Our annual Christmas Concert will be held next Thursday 8 December on the quad. The picnic component of the evening will begin at 5:15pm and the concert at 6:00pm. This is always a well-attended fun event; I look forward to seeing all the families enjoying a special evening. The P&C will be running a sausage sizzle and raffles throughout the night. Can you please keep the fold out camp chairs off the quad as it damages the surface?
OHSC
Our out of hours school care provider continues to operate successfully onsite at KPS. It is a great opportunity for your children to have a structured day care experience without having to leave the school grounds. Please contact them directly for more information on 9473 8402 or 9473 8407.
