We have had a fun filled week to finish off Term 1 in style. With the Mud Run, Easter Hat parade and Free Dress it has certainly been a mixture of colours and textures. As we break for the Easter holidays today, I would like to thank our wonderful community for the great start to 2023. I hope that you can spend some time away as a family, relax and enjoy a well-earned break. Our office will reopen on Monday 24 April, however students do not return to school until Wednesday 26 April.
ANZAC Day Service
Our ANZAC Day service will be held on Wednesday 26 April from 10:30am at the Cenotaph Monument, Rushton Park. We welcome all families to come along to pay their respects on this solemn occasion. The ceremony will be run by students in Room 4, the Choir and our Student Councillors. I want to thank Mrs Long for her hard work and dedication in preparing and running the service.
Therapy Services
We have finalised our agreement with Down South Therapy Services for two Occupational Therapists in their final placements to operate services at Kelmscott Primary School from next term. We have busily been collating referrals and touching base with parents to get started straight away. Our existing partnership with Fremantle Speech Pathology Services will also continue operating as per normal. As a school, we continue to explore opportunities with outside agencies to provide the best education for your children.
Awesome Evening
On Thursday 4 May, we will be holding one of our major community events. This night will include classroom stalls, P&C fundraisers and a disco. We will be advertising this over the next four weeks. We hope to see as many of you as possible!
Mud Run Reward
Our PBS reward for Term 1 was a Mud Run obstacle course that we created in the junior play area. This included slip and slides, mud pools and sprinklers. The course was run over two days with juniors and seniors both having an opportunity to get involved. It was a lot of fun, very messy and I believe I will be finding mud in my hair for the next three weeks.
Easter Hat Parade
Many fantastic hats were on display this morning in what was a very well attended hat parade. There was so much creativity with the hat designs and it was fantastic to see so many parents come along to watch. A big thank you goes to Mr Donohue for hosting, the ICT students for creating the playlist and the Easter Bunny for making a surprise visit!
