Dear Parents/Carers,
Term 3 has now almost come to a close. I hope that you have a wonderful break with your children and enjoy some warmer weather. It has been a fantastic term that has been so busy – yet rewarding. I continue to be so impressed with how well our students are achieving in all aspects of their schooling.
Goodbye Ms Thomason
Today we bid farewell to our deputy principal Ms Thomason. I want to publicly acknowledge the amazing work that she has done in her time here. She has been instrumental in developing our whole school approaches to literacy and numeracy and has been a fantastic advocate for our students. Ms Thomason will be missed by staff, students and our community. Our loss will be Yarralinka Primary School’s gain as she begins Term 4 as the new permanent Deputy Principal there.
Massed Choir Festival
Tonight is the big night! I can’t wait to see our wonderful choir perform at the Perth Concert Hall in front of a massive crowd of families from many schools across Perth. Thank you to Mr Campbell and Ms Ferguson for all the work you have done preparing for this event.
Swimming Lessons
The feedback I have received from staff and parents are unanimous in how well our students represented our school and engaged in swimming lessons with enthusiasm. It was fantastic to have a warmer time of the year to attend as well.
Class Lists 2023
We are well and truly preparing for 2023 with our recruitment processes completed and our enrolment projections also done. If you have any special requests for 2023, please email me directly at Jason.bushe-jones@education.wa.edu.au. Whilst we try to accommodate reasonable requests, these can never be guaranteed.
140th Mucky Duck Bush Dance
On Thursday 13 October (Week 1), you are all invited to our very exciting evening of celebrations for our 140th year. There will be a range of wonderful activities to be involved in including the performance by the Mucky Duck Bush Band.
Pupil Free Day
Friday 14 October will be a Pupil Free Day. This coincides with the Kelmscott Show. Staff will still attend school and be engaged in professional learning.
PBS Focus
Our current PBS focus is ‘We are responsible for our blood bubble’. These core values are explicitly taught in the classroom to complement our positive approach to student behaviour.
OHSC
Our out of hours school care provider continues to operate successfully onsite at KPS. It is a great opportunity for your children to have a structured day care experience without having to leave the school grounds. Please contact them directly for more information on 9473 8402 or 9473 8407.
