Week 4 is peak report writing time for our teachers who will be busy writing their Semester 2 reports during weekends and after school, it certainly is a stressful time. I am in the lucky position to get to read all 320 reports and take pride in all the fantastic improvements our students have made over the school year.
Interschool Sports
Yesterday selected students from Year 3-6 were chosen to represent KPS at the interschool carnival at Roleystone DHS. I was very proud that most of our students represented our school with pride and competed to the best of their ability. We were lucky enough to have quite a few students bring home medals for Champion/Runner up Champion Boy/Girl. We finished 3rd overall which is a great result considering we are competing against much larger schools. Mr Donohue has told me that we just need to sharpen up on our team games next year and we will be a very good chance to be the champion school.
Ms M’s Last Week
Next week is our Deputy Principal, Ms Aleesha Meuleners last week at KPS before she takes maternity leave. I want to publicly acknowledge the amazing contributions Ms M has made to our school over the last 14 months. She is one of the most hard working, dedicated educators I have ever come across. Whilst she will be sorely missed, we wish her all the very best in this new chapter of her life.
Last Call For Requests
Our planning for 2022 is well and truly underway. If you have any requests for your child’s placement next year, you need to contact me on jason.bushe-jones@education.wa.edu.au before the end of Week 5. Whilst we take these requests under consideration, there are no guarantees they will be met.
New Uniforms
There has been a delay in our new uniform being delivered. We are still hopeful that they will be available at the beginning of December. This delay has been caused by COVID shutdowns and was completely out of our control. I think they will be worth the wait as they will look amazing.
Kindy Expo 2022
Preparations are underway for our annual Kindy Expo on Friday 19 November at 9am. This promises to be a great event with many different stalls and information about our kindergarten program. If you haven’t enrolled your child for kindy in 2022 please make sure you do ASAP. We have already begun our orientation program every Friday. It has been fantastic to meet our newest kelmtastic kids.
