STEM stands for Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. At our school, we successfully integrate a STEM based approach across the curriculum.
Kelmscott Primary School was recently recognised by the Department of Education as a 'STEM Enterprise School', this allowed us to develop our program and to innovate to ensure our students are epuipped with the skills and knowledge to become successful 21st century learners.
We offer an afterschool 'Robotics Club' using the latest Lego EV3 technology to learn how to program, troubleshoot and set algorithms to find solutions to complex osbtacles. Each year, a team is selected to compete in the interschool FIRST Lego League Competition.
Each year level has a combined STEM based project that they complete every semester. Our school has a purpose built science laboratory that is well resourced and fitted with gas taps, science benches and the latest technology in educational robotics.
